The Laser 2000 is one of the best asymmetric boats to learn on, comparable to an RS200 but more roomy. Once you're ready to race there is a very active Class Association and you can find many clubs with them, both inland and on the sea.
If you're not familiar with modern asymmetric rigs, one halyard raises the spinnaker and launches the bowsprit, or pulls the whole lot back in again very neatly. The design also has slab reefing on the main and a furling jib.
'Waving not Drowning' is a very tidy example with 2 suits of sails, new sheets (inc. 2:1 jib sheets), main halyard and spinnaker ratchet blocks.
The hull colour is slightly sun bleached but she has been polished regularly. The cover was replaced 2 years ago but looks green because she is laid up under a tree. Full combi trailer and stern-mounted lighting board are included.
